Pats bring in Springs
New York, NY (Sports Network) - The New England Patriots appeared to have
won the services of free agent cornerback Shawn Springs.
NFL.com reports that the Patriots reached an agreement with the veteran
defender on Thursday.
Springs spent the past five seasons with Washington after playing his first
seven years with Seattle. The Ohio State product grew up in nearby Silver
Spring, Maryland.
Last season, Springs missed seven games with a calf injury and finished the
campaign with 36 tackles and one interception. In his five seasons with the
Redskins, he picked off 12 passes, notched seven sacks and recorded 250
tackles.
